In a flash,
Little John got dressed and made her
bed. And even though she wanted to rush out the door, she took time to eat a
good breakfast. Little John had learned at school that
breakfast was the most important meal of the day.
When Little John heard a knock at the front door she
carefully checked to see who was there before she unlocked and opened it. It
was McGruff and some police officers, ready to drive her to school.
Little John locked the door as they left. "What to go,
Little John," McGruff said. "Better safe than sorry."
When Little John and McGruff got into the police car
they both took time to buckle up securely. "Wow," exclaimed
Little John, "patrol cars are cool! Can we turn on the
siren? Can I talk on the Radio?" McGruff gave her a friendly smile. "There's
more to crime prevention that just sirens, Little John,"
he said. "Just wait."
