Desktop shortcuts are great for quick, easy access to your favourite programs.
It is very easy to create desktop shortcuts in windows XP®.

We have included instruction for both the windows XP standard start menu, and also for the Windows classic start menu.

Windows XP start menu

First, navigate to the program you want the shortcut to on the start menu (in this example we are creating a shortcut for Internet Explorer), to do this click on the Start button, hover over All Programs and then locate the program required.

Right Click on the program and hold down the mouse button, move the mouse pointer to the desktop (as shown on the left) and then release the mouse button.
Then simply left click on Copy Here.
Windows classic start menu

To create a shortcut with the windows classic start menu simply click on the Start button, hold the mouse over programs and find the program you wish to create a shortcut to.

Right Click and hold down the mouse button on the program, drag the mouse over to the desktop (as shown on the left) and then let go of the mouse button.
When you release the mouse button a menu will appear, simply left click on Copy Here.

We strive to keep all of the links provided up-to-date and functioning properly, but as you can image, with the measures in which technology is expanding, it's tough to keep current with everything. So, if you come across a broken link (i.e., a link that is not connecting properly), please contact us. We will investigate the issue and contact you as soon as we can.
